OREGON, OHIO -- Just hours after a fire killed 11 therapy horses and destroyed a barn owned by an Oregon non-profit group, community members have already set up a 5K fundraiser to benefit the organization.

According to the race's website, "Run for the Meadows" will take place on May 25 to raise money for Vail Meadows Equestrian Center. The price to enter is $15 for pre-registration and $20 at the day of the race. To register, visit www.runforthemeadows.com.

Vail Meadows uses horses as therapy for mentally and physically handicapped children and adults. Oregon fire officials confirmed at least 11 horses perished in a fire that started around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
