+50 degrees COLDER than a year ago!
Last year we shattered the record high temp for 3/20 which was set in 1921! We hit 82 degrees last year on the 1st day of spring. This year it will "feel" ~70 degrees colder!
Yes, the Vernal Equinox, the official arrival of spring occurred at 7:02am. Today will be anything but "spring-like" with a cold wind and even some snow flurries/showers. Periods of sunshine, some isolated flurries and a stiff wind out of the west gusting to 30 MPH will provide bitter cold throughout the day. High temps this afternoon will struggle to get out of the 20's with windchills in the teens most of the afternoon - in the single digits at times with the stronger gusts!
We'll be partly cloudy and cold overnight. Lows will fall to near 20 degrees with windchills near 10 degrees by daybreak. Tomorrow offers some afternoon sunshine with highs in the mid 30's. Friday and Saturday will offer plenty of sunshine with highs getting into the upper 30's... the normal high temp is 50!
Clouds lower and thicken on Sunday, leading up to a wintery mix of precipitation headed our way to kick-off the next work week on Monday.
