OREGON -- A wild winter, complete with frigid cold, snow, wind, and rain, has inconvenienced some and caused major damage for one local animal rescue.

The founder of You Lucky Dog, a dog rescue center in Oregon, says last week's wind and rain flooded her business and caused significant damage.

Jane Huth says she first noticed water creeping toward the kennels, but managed to funnel it away keeping the dogs safe. However, she couldn't stop the damage that had already been done. That damage is about $1,500-worth, according to Huth.

The center rescues about 25 dogs a year on an operating budget of only about $2,000.

Here's how you can help: Tax-deductible donations are being accepted in the group's name at Sun Federal Credit Union, 1917 Pickle Rd., Oregon. You can also send a donation directly to the center by mailing it to: You Lucky Dog, 1510 Blandin St., Oregon, Ohio 43616.
