2 trapped during Bryan house fire found dead

Two people trapped inside a home during an overnight fire were found dead early Thursday, according to the Bryan Fire Department.

Dispatchers received a call about a fire at 316 North Beech Street just after 1 a.m. According to the department's news release, fire crews found the two-story house engulfed in flames with reports of people trapped inside on the second floor. The Bryan Times reports three people escaped from the first story.

The fire was contained around 3 a.m. and firefighters found the two victims dead shortly after. Their identities have not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The Lucas County Coroner's office will conduct the autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death.

The State Fire Marshal is helping investigate the cause of the fire.
