**PLANNED TORNADO DRILL HAS BEEN CANCELLED WEDNESDAY**
The National Weather Service has cancelled a scheduled statewide tornado drill for Wednesday morning due to the potential for severe weather in north-central, central and southern Ohio Wednesday.

A statewide tornado drill is set for 9:50 a.m. on Wednesday. The sirens will go off in Lucas County, and around the state, for one minute.

Schools, businesses and residents are encouraged to practice their emergency plans in case of severe weather.

Ohio Governor John Kasich has declared this to be Severe Weather Awareness Week.

Ohio's peak tornado season is April through July, although tornados can occur at any time.  According to the National Weather Service, tornado touched down in central Ohio's Fairfield County on Feb. 28 - the state's first February tornado in 18 years.
