MILLBURY, OHIO -- The tornado that tore through Wood Co. Saturday night did everything it could to rip Lake High School apart, structurally and spiritually.

"I knew it was bad, but I've never seen anything like this in my life,” said Lake School Board President Tim Krugh as he assessed the damage at the Millbury high school.

Just days after graduating from the eighth-grade, teens in the township are anxious to know where they will be attending their first year of high school next academic year. “Where am I going to go next year? I thought...am I ever going to go to Lake High School or not,” said Kylie Hoffman, an incoming Lake freshman. Hoffman and her friends were planning on the building being there in August for them to start high school.

“It's kind of like eerie feeling. You think...you were just there...last week and this week it's gone,” said Zachary Sharpe a Lake High freshman.

Even worse, the father of this year's class valedictorian won't make it to see his daughter graduate. Ted Kranz, 46, died Saturday night when the twister swallowed up his family's Millbury home. “As you can imagine it's a very difficult situation, but we're a strong family and we're handling it well I think,” said Tim Kranz, Ted’s brother.

With many students waiting to hear a plan for the school's future, the President of the School Board says they don't have one yet. "There's no book, there's no planning for this, there's no playbook for this and we're just taking it one step at a time,” said Krugh.

The Lake High class of 2010 will take steps across the stage of Owens Community College; that's where their graduation ceremony will go forward Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m.   Graduating seniors were holding out hope that ceremonies would take place somewhere on the destroyed school's grounds; however, Krugh maintained that there was no room on the property to hold the number of people expected to attend, nor is it safe.
