MAUMEE -- The road to a state championship starts here.

Springfield and Central Catholic won their first tournament games on Tuesday.

The Blue Devils, the top seed in the Division I-Maumee District, had no trouble dispatching of Waite, winning 25-0.

The #2 seed Irish had a little more trouble with #8 Northview. The needed extra innings and some clutch hitting down the stretch to outlast the Lady Kats, 6-5.
