BOWLING GREEN, OH -- Bowling Green State University women's basketball team shut down the nationally-ranked University of Dayton in the second half of the Sunday afternoon showdown.  The Falcons dismantled the 15th ranked Flyers 65-40 at the Stroh Center.

BGSU's defense put on a show allowing Dayton just four second-half field goals and forced the Flyers to commit 21 turnovers Saturday.

Redshirt junior Alexis Rogers led the charge for the Falcons with 20 points, 10 rebounds and six steals.  Senior Chrissy Steffen added 16 points and cracked the 1,000-point mark for her career during the second half.

The last time the Falcons beat a ranked opponent was two years ago when BGSU took down Vanderbilt, 69-58.

The Falcons will carry the momentum from their six game win streak as they host UCF Friday, January 4 at 7pm.
