BGSU hangs tough with Michigan State

BOWLING GREEN, OH -- For the third straight season, Bowling Green State was defeated by Michigan State. BGSU lost 64-53 despite a career-high 16 points from sophomore Chauncey Orr. Jordan Crawford finished with 10 points and seven assists. A'uston Calhoun added nine points and five rebounds.

Spartans entered the game as one of the top rebounding teams in the country, averaging 11 more boards than their opponents per game. Michigan State did finish with a 38-35 advantage on the boards, but Bowling Green out rebounded the Spartans 13-9 in offensive boards.

Falcons stuck right with the Spartans in the first half forcing nine lead changes and only trailed by five points going into the half. But late in the second half, Spartans went on 19-8 run to defeat the Falcons in front of a standing-room only crowd of 4,291 at the Stroh Center.

Bowling Green falls to 5-5 on the season and Michigan State improves to 10-2. Falcons travel to take on South Florida Friday, December 21st.
