TOLEDO, OH -- University of Toledo coach Tricia Cullop announced Friday freshman Cat Wells has been suspended indefinitely from the women’s basketball team.

“Cat has broken team rules and as a result has been suspended indefinitely,” Cullop said. “We hope she will learn from her mistakes and make wiser choices in the future.”

Wells, a 5-foot-5 point guard, averaged11.9 points, 7.2 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 3.1 steals per game as a senior for Notre Dame Academy in Toledo. She led the Eagles to a 23-5 overall record and helped them advance to the state semifinals for the first time in school history. A four-year varsity player and three-year starter, Wells scored 924 career points.
