TOLEDO, OH -- University of Toledo's football team opened training camp Friday morning at the Glass Bowl. The Rockets took a split quad approach: half the team in the morning and the other half in the afternoon. The Rockets will continue the split practices throughout the weekend, then begin full-team practices on Monday.

First year head Coach Matt Campbell said they split the team up into two sessions because he wants to make sure every player gets a good look.

Rockets (9-4, 7-1 MAC in 2011) were picked to finish in first place in the West Division of the Mid-American Conference by the MAC Newsmedia. The Rockets return 12 starters from last year's team, including three All-MAC players.
