TOLEDO -- It's a little bit of history repeating for the Toledo Rockets women's basketball team.

Just like they did last year, UT is march right through the WNIT. Their latest victim, VCU, was overwhelmed by the Rockets speed and transition game, as Toledo outscored the Rams 30-13 over the las 8:19 of the game and won 81-64.

"This team has continued to find ways to rise to the top and...that comes from the kind of character that they have inside of them. Their parents gave them that," said head coach Tricia Cullop. Next up for the Rockets is an Elite Eight matchup with Syracuse, Saturday at Savage Arena at 2pm. The game is a rematch from the same round last year.

After leaving briefly at the beginning of the 2nd half, Andola Dortch came back with a fury, ending the game with 20 points, six rebounds and five assists and, for the second game in a row, senior Courtney Ingersoll tied her career high with 24 points and became UT's all-time leader in games played.

"We truly do not want to go home," Ingersoll said. "You have these fans behind you and the student section behind you and we're winning games...it's a great lifestyle right now and you don't want that to end."
