Wrestling, Hockey and Swimming post-season action
The Rogers girls basketball team did what was expected of them on Saturday, winning their first City League championship 70-50 over Waite. Junior Cha'Ron Sweeney led the way with 31 points.
"[The] girls workd really hard for this, they wanted to bring it home for the school because it's never been done," said Rogers head coach Lamar Smith.
"To be a part of a school that just made history for the first time, it's really special," Cha'Ron Sweeney said.
High school District hockey playoffs continued at Tam-O-Shanter. Whitmer won the early game 4-3 over Southview, and Anthony Wayne defeated Clay 8-2.
Speaking of Clay, the Oregon high school played host to the Division I District wrestling tournament. The host school came out the overall winner.
Finally, at BGSU's natatorium, District swimming concluded.
