High Impact Event south of B-G
Skies become increasingly cloudy this morning as a big winter storm moves toward the Ohio Valley. North of a line from Van Wert to Findlay to Upper Sandusky, a Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect at noon, south of that line, it is a Winter Storm Warning and will remain in effect through noon Wednesday.
Snow will first develop by mid to late afternoon in the form of flurries. As we get into this evening, the snowfall will increase in intensity across southern portions of northwest Ohio. The snowfall totals gradient will be very sharp.
Across far northwestern Ohio and into southeastern Michigan, we likely won't see much from this storm by daybreak on Wednesday. Along and south of the Maumee River Valley, we will be seeing light snowfall totals of perhaps an inch or two. Once we get down into the RT 30 corridor, places like the aforementioned Van Wert, Findlay and Upper Sandusky and points south of this will likely be the biggest/deepest snow storm of the season with 2 to 5 inches of snow and even more likely further south. I expect this will be a high impact event for southern portions of northwest Ohio for the Wednesday morning commute.
The storm departs by mid-day Wednesday and we will see things clear out and warm-up as we head toward the weekend. Highs on Saturday under partly cloudy skies will climb into the mid 40s!
