UPDATE, 11 a.m.: During a press conference Friday morning, Toledo police said that two brothers walking to Raymer Elementary School just before 9 a.m. hid a non-operational BB gun to reportedly show their friends. A neighbor saw the children, 7 and 12, with the BB gun and called police, mistaking it for a firearm.

UPDATE, 9:45 a.m.: Toledo police say a student brought a BB gun to Raymer Elementary School on Friday morning. No threats were reportedly made to other students.

UPDATE, 9:25 a.m.: WNWO's crew at the scene says parents are now showing up at the school to take children home. Authorities have told parents that the school is safe and the gun is no longer on the premise.

 

ORIGINAL REPORT: Toledo police dispatch confirms that a student with a gun was spotted at Raymer Elementary School, located near the intersection of White and Nevada Street at 550 Raymer Boulevard.

Police received the report just minutes ago. The child is reportedly no longer on the property, and officers are responding to the scene.
