High Wind Advisory - gusts to 50 MPH

Photo

A High Wind Advisory is in effect through 7 p.m. this evening. After the mild start with temps in the mid 40s early this morning, we will turn winter-like by this afternoon as winds scream out of the west from a potent winter storm moving into the northern Great Lakes.

Winds will gust to 50 mph this afternoon and transport colder, more seasonable air into the region... by evening we'll see temps in the mid 30s with windchills much cooler than that.  We could also see a few stray snow flurries/showers.

Temps fall into the mid 20s overnight with a few breaks in the cloud cover. Tuesday will be partly sunny and cooler with highs in the mid 30s.  Wednesday will offer plenty of sunshine and milder highs in the upper 30s.  Valentines Day looks great with highs in the lower 40s.

For Friday and the weekend the winter-like weather again returns with periods of scattered showers and high temps not getting out of the 20s on Saturday and Sunday.

Batten down the hatches today and use two hands on the steering wheel as those gusts will be incredibly strong, especially this afternoon.

Have a great start to the week!
