TOLEDO -- The news that Dr. Jerome Pecko will retire as superintendent of Toledo Public Schools when his contract expires in July continues to be a hot topic of conversation in Toledo.  Radchelle Quinn, whose son attends Martin Luther King Elementary was initially surprised by Pecko's announcement.  "I  am pretty sure the board will be able to find someone to do just as good a job as Dr. Pecko did," Ms. Quinn said.

School Board President Brenda Hill says she and her colleagues on the board will soon begin the process of finding Dr. Pecko's successor, but she stressed that Pecko will remain on the job through the summer.  "Dr. Pecko's contract runs through July 31 and he told us last night that he will work until then so there is leadership in the school system," Ms. Hill said.
