CEDAR POINT, OH -- Today a unique event took place at Cedar Point, the first Ohio Valley junior sand volleyball regional championship.

About a hundred junior sand volleyball doubles teams came out today to compete for the Ohio Valley regional championship with hopes to qualify for USA junior beach national championship.

At the end of the day, it was a local Toledo club sweeping the standings for the girls 18's division. Premier Volleyball Academy's Katie Horton and Lexie Luris took first, Kelsey Lahey and Caitlyn Streaker finished second, and Steph Richards and Megan Clever finished third.

This is the first year for the junior sand program for the Ohio Valley region. Tournament director Rob Long was quite impressed with how much interest they have received in just their first year.
