BOWLING GREEN -- A former Genoa High School assistant wrestling coach charged with sexual battery pleaded not guilty at his Wood County bond hearing on Tuesday morning, according to court documents.

Perrysburg police received a report in May about 28-year-old Joseph Bergman, Jr.'s alleged sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student, which is believed to have taken place on March 30.

Bergman was indicted May 16  on one felony count of sexual battery.

Bergman was arrested in Missouri at Fort Leonard Wood Army Base and brought back to Wood County on Saturday.
