TOLEDO -- Jim Leyland and the Detroit Tigers couldn't have asked for a better start from Doug Fister on Wednesday night.

As he continues to battle back from a strained muscle in his left side, Fister made a rehab start for the Mud Hens and led them to a 5-3 victory over Pawtucket.

The right-hander went four scoreless innings, throwing 68 pitches, 5 strikeouts and one walk while allowing only two hits.

"I went out there and pitched how I normally pitch.  You know, just reacting to hitters and what's working for me tonight or not...that's just kind of how we worked with [catcher Omir] Santos and so...I got my work in with my fastball but I also got the off speed working too," Fister said.

As for the rest of the Hens, Ryan Strieby got the scoring underway in the first with a monster 2-run blast that landed on Monroe street. The Hens scored all their runs in the first three innings, en route to their second straight win. Jose Ortega took the win, improving to 2-1 on the season.
