The NFL draft has come and gone and Springfield High alum Eric Page was not chosen.

Obviously, a disappointment for the University of Toledo playmaker but not the end of his NFL aspirations.

Page will head to Denver as an undrafted free agent.

It's an incredible opportunity to catch on with the Broncos and Peyton Manning, one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the game.

The journey will not be an easy one but Page has made a habit out of proving doubters wrong from high school through college.

A similar journey was travelled just one year ago by another northwest Ohioan who shares that 419 area code,  Dane Sanzenbacher.

The Central Catholic alum went from virtual unknown heading into Ohio State to team captain and first-team All Big 10 his senior year.

Undrafted but undaunted, Sanzenbacher signed with the Chicago Bears, made the roster and played in all 16 games, catching 27 balls for 276 yards and 3 TD's.

He signed a three year deal worth just over $1.4 million.  He'll make approximately $465,000 in 2012.

It's not much by NFL standards but it's not bad for an undrafted kid from northwest Ohio.
