It's always nice to feel wanted.

Central Catholic junior safety Jayme Thompson knows that feeling well.

Thompson gave a verbal commitment to play football at West Virginia University just over a month ago but de-committed over the weekend and will now play at The Ohio State University.

"It's extremely special," said Thompson.  "Your're playing for a traditional program.  You'll be playing against some really good competition and in one of the biggest rivalries of all-time against the University of Michigan."

Thompson said they received a phone call asking if he would be interested in playing for OSU and then after speaking with head coach Urban Meyer, he made his decision.

"Talking to him, you know you're talking to a winner," said the future Buckeye defensive back.  "He's confident with what he's going to bring to the table and very straight-forward with what he's doing with the program and where he wanted me to play."

As for leaving West Virginia before he could even enroll, Jayme's dad Deon said it was a difficult decision.

"We really liked West Virginia a lot," said Deon Thompson.  "Those guys are a class act.  They are some of the best guys I've e ver met but when it came down to it Jayme wanted to be closer to home.  I mean an hour-and-a-half versus four-and-a-half [to] five, is a big difference."

Thompson is listed asfour star recruit on a number of recruiting web sites.
