UT, BG, Owens all lose

Saturday wasn't the best day to be a basketball fan in northwest Ohio.

The Toledo Rockets men's basketball team shot only 30% (15-50) from the field in a 41-38 road loss to Eastern Michigan. Sophomore Rian Pearson had 15 points in the losing effort.

Heading south to Bowling Green the score was different, but the result was the same. The Falcons fell behind 6-0 early on three thunderous dunks by the Buffalo Bulls, en route to a 68-66 loss. Junior A'uston Calhoun had a career high 29 points.

At the SHAC, it was a game of Top 10 teams as the #8 Express took on #2 Cincinnati State. Despite 20 points and 10 rebounds from Anthony Wayne alum Emma-Jean Ricketts and three pointer by Uniqua Mitchell to send the game into overtime, Owens couldn't keep pace and dropped their 4th game of the season, 92-84.

The men also lost to Cincinnati State, 65-62.
