TOLEDO -- After a disappointing stretch of basketball that saw them fall below .500  and 0-3 in the MAC, the Toledo Rockets men's basketball team finally gave their fans something to cheer about on Wednesday.

After taking a 19 point lead at halftime, UT cruised to a 71-41 victory over Northern Illinois.

"We haven't been real good coming down the stretch of the first half," said Rockets head coach Tod Kowalczyk. "We've let some leads go...haven't closed out halves very well and tonight we did."

UT received a big boost off of their bench as junior Curtis Dennis led the team in scoring with 18 points. He was followed by sophomore Reese Holliday with 11 and junior Dominique Buckley with 10.

Next up for Toledo is a trip to Ypsilanti for a date with Eastern Michigan on Saturday at 2pm.
