Less than a week after he was named interim head football coach at the University of Toledo, Matt Campbell has been named to the position on a full time basis.

The 32 year old becomes one of the youngest, if not the youngest head coach in Division I college football.
Campbell served as an offensive coordinator under Tim Beckman at UT, molding the Rockets into one of the top ten teams in total offense in the country.
Beckman publicly announced he wanted Campbell during his introductory press conference at Illinois saying, "I guarantee you I'll be trying to get Matt Campbell".
Campbell said he spoke with Beckman about the offer and his former boss understood the desire to become a head football coach.
The Massillon native started coaching as a graduate assistant on Gregg Brandon's staff at Bowling Green State University in 2003 before leaving for his alma mater, Mt. Union.
During Campbell's college days with the Purple Raiders, he was part of three national championships as a player from 2000-2002 and two more when he returned as an assistant coach in 2004-05.
As for the Rockets, while a national title might not be within the realm of possibilities, Campbell thinks they can win a Mid American Conference crown in his first year.
For Rocket fans, that would be a dream come true.
