A typical Friday night in December revolves around high school basketball.

The Friday Night Frenzy is loaded up and ready to go but no question, the biggest story of the day is Tim Beckman taking the Illinois head football coaching job.

Coach Beckman said next to his children being born it was the best day of his life.  "A dream come true," Beckman said.

We know he was talking about a Big 10 coaching gig but a 5-year deal worth $9 million can make some dreams happen too.

Back in Toledo, offensive coordinator Matt Campbell has been elevated to interim head coach of the Rockets.

Campbell left Bowling Green State University, where he was an assistant under Gregg Brandon and joined Beckman at UT in 2009.

It does not take a rocket scientist to see Campbell would be a great fit as Beckman's full-time replacement.

Under his tutelage, the Rockets are among the top 10 team in the country in total offense.

For now, the 32 year old has one game on a national stage to help prove his worth as head coaching material.

Toledo will play Air Force in the Armed Forces Bowl on December 28 in Washington D.C.
