BOWLING GREEN -- At times it wasn't pretty but the BGSU women's basketball team won their fourth consecutive game on Saturday, defeating Butler 71-61.

The two teams combined for 47 fouls and 42 turnovers in a game that was largely dominated by the Falcons, but also one in which the Bulldogs never seemed out of until the final minutes.

Senior Jessica Slagle, junior Chrissy Steffen and sophomore Aleixs Rogers carried the majority of the scoring load for the Falcons.  Steffen and Slagle each had 15, for the latter it was a career high, and Rogers put in 14 while pulling down a team high eight boards.

"We're a work in progress, we're not perfect yet and, you know, I think for a while still this team's going to take two steps forward and one step back and then two steps forward and one step back. We're going to gradually keep getting better and better," said BG head coach Curt Miller.

The next contest for the ladies is Tuesday at Youngstown St. then it's back home for a Friday night game against Austin Peay.
