ORLANDO, FLA. -- Sources out of the sunshine state say former Florida Gators coach Urban Meyer agreed in principle to become the new head football coach at The Ohio State University.

However, Meyer himself denied the deal to ESPN, stating: "I have not been offered any job nor is there a deal in place."

According to WKMG-TV in Orlando, Meyer is expected to be introduced as the Buckeyes' new head coach in the coming days. This comes after reports that he signed in principle to a seven-year $40 million dollar deal with OSU.

While no official announcement has been made, Meyer told a Florida newspaper on Monday that he was mentally and physically ready to return to coaching. At the time, he denied having had any meetings with Ohio State officials.

Meyer resigned as the Gators' head coach in 2010 after citing health concerns.

Current interim head coach, Luke Fickell, is expected to remain on the team as assistant head coach, according to reports.
