ROSSFORD -- Wednesday night, members of the Rossford community gathered at a candlelight vigil to show their support for a local teen battling a rare form of cancer.

According to Kerry Keller's step-sister, Annie Huffman, the football player had been responding well to treatment for Rhabdomyosarcoma when his health unexpectedly took a turn for the worse.

"Last night was absolutely terrifying. You don't know how fast things can change in just the blink of an eye," Huffman said.

Tuesday night, the Rossford High School Junior was taken to the University of Michigan's Hospital in Ann Arbor for emergency treatment.

A day later, a large crowd would receive good news on Keller's condition during an event organized to pray for his speedy recovery.

Keller's Pastor, Chuck Campbell, spoke on behalf of his family at the gathering and assured them "he is doing much better.

Campbell says that Keller is anxious to leave the hospital and has committed to attend a youth gathering with his church next July.
