While it's been nothing but good news for the University of Toledo women's basketball team recently, it's been nothing but bad news for the men's program and that trend continues.
We learn Friday Tod Kowalczyk's team will lose three scholarships for the 2011-12 season.
The reason is poor grades and graduation rates dating back to a four year span starting with Stan Joplin's 2006-'07 team and continuing through 2009-'10 under Gene Cross.
As a result of the loss of scholarships, red-shirt freshman Hayde Humes has transferred out.
The Rockets will have 10 players on scholarship next year. Only two actually played last year, Delino Dear and Reese Holliday.
Four transfers, who sat out last year and four incoming freshman hold the remaining scholarships.
