One of the half dozen men charged in the robbery and shooting death of a South Toledo gym owner has confessed to his role in the crime.
According to court documents, 34-year-old Matthew Managhan pleaded guilty on Tuesday to involuntary manslaughter with a gun specification and aggravated robbery in the November 19th death of 57-year-old Joseph "Joe" Lengel, Jr.
The Toledo Blade says that, in court, Managhan admitted to making arrangements for 3 of his co-defendants to rob a person.
Managhan believed the intended victim would be carrying cash and drugs while on the premises of a repair shop located next to Lengel's gym.
The 34-year-old also confessed to supplying the handgun for the crime.
Prosecutors say that Lengel was not the intended victim.
