TOLEDO -- The arraignment for the man accused of strangling his ex-girlfriend to death almost two weeks ago has been postponed.
The court date for 24-year-old Thomas Ellison, Jr. was moved so his attorney could look into his mental health history. Ellison was captured in Cincinnati just days after feeling the crime scene at a Parkwood Avenue Duplex.
Police say Ellison called 911 to report he had killed Jazmon Hoskins. He told them that Hoskins was his girlfriend, but the woman's mother told WNWO that they had not been in a relationship for over a year at the time of her death. He is, however, the father of Hoskins' 19-month-old child.
He's due back in court on June 18.
Note: This article has been updated to reflect that Ellison and Hoskins were not in a relationship at the time of her death.
