BOWLING GREEN -- Close to 2,500 people gathered on the lawn outside University Hall on Bowling Green State University's campus Friday evening to celebrate the lives of three BGSU sorority sisters killed in a car accident March 2nd.

"She's a confidant, a keeper of secrets, a maker of memories, a weaver of dreams," read Katie Hammond, as she recited a poem in honor of her sister Sarah.

Sarah Hammond, Rebekah Blakkolb and Christina Goyett died on Interstate 75, while driving to catch a flight for a spring break trip. Two other sisters in the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority were injured. Angelica Mormile and Kayla Somoles continue to recover from their injuries.

The driver of the other car, which was traveling the wrong way on I-75, was also killed.

Students, faculty and friends stood mostly silent, while family members talked about the three young women who were killed.

The ceremony ended with a candlelight vigil as family members and sorority sisters walked to the Alpha Xi Delta house.

"We will always love you and remember Christina. You will live in our hearts forever," said Dee Bishop, a family friend of the Goyett family.
