TOLEDO -- Voters who entered Reynolds Elementary School this morning to vote may have voted in the wrong election, according to Steve Fought, spokesman for the Marcy Kaptur for Congress campaign.
According to Fought, "possibly more than 70," voters were provided with ballots for the fifth congressional district rather than the ninth congressional district. If they chose to vote in the Democratic primary, they would have voted for Angela Zimmann rather than Kaptur, Dennis Kucinich, or Graham Vesey. If they chose to vote in the Republican primary, they would have vote for Rep. Bob Latta rather than Sam Wurzelbacher or Steve Kraus.
The alleged foul up was confined to precinct 24-C which votes a Reynolds Elementary.
Fought said anybody who voted at precinct 24-C prior to 1:00 PM should return to the polling place and aks to be allowed to vote again. If they are refused that opportunity, they should request a provisional ballot.
Calls to the Lucas County Board of Elections were not returned.
"The only sure things in life are death, taxes, and Lucas County having the worst elections board in the state of Ohio,"said Kaptur campaign manager, Steve Fought.
