NORTHWOOD -- Hostess, the makers of Twinkies and Wonder Bread gave bakery workers who hit the picket line a deadline to return to work or else.

But those workers have ignored the 5:00 pm deadline and now all eyes are on the company to see if it will keep it's promise to liquidate.

The workers belong to the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union. They joined thousands of other Hostess plant workers across the country in an unified protest .

So far three plants are already closed in Cincinnati, St. Louis, and Seattle.

"Pretty soon, I'm not going to be able to feed my kid. That's scary, it's very scary," explains Melissa White, nine year employee at the Northwood plant.

Co-worker Mark Popovich, a 21 year veteran of the plant echoes the same feelings, "I think we're all concerned. We're very concerned, what we would actually like is for them to renegotiate with us."

Hostess Brands says they have tried to negotiate with the union. Now the company will file a motion with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court to liquidate the company.

That means 18,000 workers including these people here at Northwood will be unemployed.
