COLUMBUS -- Newt Gingrich is no longer the GOP golden boy in the Buckeye State.
According to a new Quinnipiac University poll, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney now takes that title. Romney has 27% of the support from Ohio republicans.
He's followed by former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum with 18%.
Former house speaker Newt Gingrich got 17% of the vote. Gingrich was the top choice of Ohio GOP voters in a similar poll taken December 8, 2011.
Ron Paul and Rick Perry round out the top five.
