DETROIT -- A link between four women's bodies found last week lead Detroit authorities to believe a killer may be targeting escorts.
The Associated Press reports three of the women were featured in "sex-related ads" on Backpage.com. The bodies of the latest two victims were discovered in a car fire on Christmas morning.
Police Chief Ralph Godbee told the AP that the link between the women and escort websites was "disconcerting."
"We felt it is imperative to alert the public that deciding to meet unknown persons via the Internet can be extremely dangerous," Godbee told CNN.
A joint funeral for the other two women is planned for Thursday. Police have not yet released the names of the latest victims.
