COLUMBIA, MO -- The makers of a baby formula suspected in a newborn's death say new tests show it is safe.

The infant was fed Enfamil brand formula manufactured by Mead Johnson.

The company tested that specific batch of Enfamil both before it was sold to consumers and after the baby's death.

Mead Johnson says the newest tests showed no presence of the rare bacterium that killed the Missouri infant this month.

Consumers with questions can call at 1-800-BABY-123.
