MONROE -- Two Monroe teens who escaped from the county Youth Center have been apprehended.

The Sheriff's Department says the 16 and 17 year olds were part of a work program that allowed them to be outsside the locked facility to care for animals.

At some point Monday evening they ran off.  But they didn't make it that far.   They were found about an hour later trying to use a phone at a home near the Youth Center.

The girls will now be facing escape charges.
