TOLEDO -- Authorities are again looking into a case of stranger danger this time in West Toledo. Police say a man tried to abduct a teen girl walking to school Thursday morning. Now they need your help stopping the guy before he strikes again.
According to police, a 15 year old girl was walking to school when a man tried to get her in his maroon van which has dark tented windows. She didn't get in and kept walking turning onto to California Boulevard when the man got out of his van and grabbed the teens arm. A neighbor saw what was happening, called out to the young woman and the suspect fled.
Police say he appears Hispanic, has a heavy accent, is 5'4, weighs 120 pounds, and has a scar under his right eye.
Tracey Morran lives near the location of the attempted abduction and says she and her husband do everything they can to keep their three kids safe, "we definitely look out as much as we can, we try to keep our windows and blinds closed because we don't like people seeing inside of our house. But other than watching out and teaching our kids about strangers, I don't know what else we can do," explains Morran.
Police say the suspect drove west on California Boulevard towards Burnham.
