Rossford Exempted Village School District's board of education has chosen Perrysburg principal and Rossford High alumnus Daniel Creps as the new superintendent.

Creps, currently the principal of Woodland Elementary School, has signed an initial two-year contract, and his official start date will be April 1, 2013. He will take over for interim superintendent Bill McFarland.

“It was a difficult decision.  We had a good and organized process and some great candidates," board president Dawn Burks said. "Our two finalists were both very well received by the staff and community during their interviews. The Board worked hard on the search and took the task of superintendent selection very seriously.  We spent a good amount of time with each candidate, made many reference calls, and talked to lots of people.  Dan made a great connection with the Board and is looking forward to becoming superintendent in the community where he grew up.”

The board says it plans to approve and introduce Creps officially at a meeting on Monday, March 18. All members of the staff and community who are interested in attending the induction are welcome, Burks said.
