According to National Energy Secretary Stephen Chu the Obama administration is "not interested in lowering gas prices" as they approach $5/gal. Testifying in front of a congressional subcommittee, Chu stuck to a philosophy he's trumpeted in the past, namely, that high gas prices provide an incentive for alternative energy technology.
