WEST TOLEDO -- Southbound I-75 between I-475 and Jeep Parkway remained closed, as of 10 p.m. on Friday, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation's real-time traffic website.

At the scene, crews spent hours cleaning up the mess.

Since the incident happened, officials have said commuters should avoid the area and warned the road may be closed for several hours.

Authorities initially closed the roadway, at exit 204, around 6:30 p.m. after a truck spilled steel coil onto the roadway.
