FRENCHTOWN TWP. -- A Monroe County man is dead after he was hit Thursday night on North Telegraph Road in Frenchtown Township.
The sheriff's office says 46-year-old Timothy Walz was trying to cross Telegraph from the parking lot of the Gravel Pit Bar when he was hit by a SUV. Walz died at the scene.
Deputies say the driver may not have seen Walz because the victim was wearing dark clothing. The driver, 63-year-old Larry Reaume, was not hurt. So far no charges have been filed.
