BOWLING GREEN -- A suspected drunk driver was airlifted from the scene of a single vehicle crash that shut down I-75 in both directions on Thursday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The highway was closed from the State Route 582 exit to the Bowling Green exit for about an hour after the crash occurred shortly after 7 a.m.

According to troopers, David P. Barnd Jr., 47, of Findlay, was driving a GMC Yukon northbound on I-75 in Center Township, Wood County. Barnd's vehicle went left of center and into the median before rolling over multiple times and coming to rest in the southbound lanes of I-75.

Barnd was ejected from his vehicle and came to rest in the median. He was Life Flighted to the University of Toledo Medical Center where is listed in critical condition.

Troopers say Barnd was not wearing a seatbelt and that alcohol/drugs are suspected to been a factor in the crash.

No other injuries were reported in the crash which remains under investigation.
