SYLVANIA TWP. -- Authorities say alcohol is believed to have played a role in a crash that left a Sylvania Township woman seriously injured early Saturday morning.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Kinsley Dale, 22, was driving a Volvo SUV north on I-475 around 3:00 a.m. Saturday when she went off the northeast corner of the roadway and struck a pole near the US 23 split.

Dale was removed from the vehicle after Sylvania Twp. Fire and EMS used the Jaws of Life to get to her.

Troopers say Dale was seriously injured in the crash and that alcohol is suspected to be a factor.

The crash remains under investigation.
