Fresh white blanket - just in time for the weekend
This won't be a big snowmaker, but it will cover all of SE Michigan & NW Ohio. A fast hitting Alberta Clipper will start delivering snow this morning and, before things wrap up, deliver a thin coat of snow across the region by this evening. Snowfall amounts by sunset will only top out at 1" to 2" - but it will certainly make things slippery in spots this afternoon. We'll see milder high temps getting into the mid 20's with light winds from the south.
Overnight we'll see some scattered snow showers with lows falling into the mid-teens. Saturday will turn into a pretty good looking day as the morning will offer gradual clearing and we should see some sunshine during the afternoon. Highs again will top out in the mid 20's and that fresh snow should be glistening. Sunday will start out with sunshine but cloud up in the afternoon. Winds will build during the afternoon with highs getting into the upper 20's.
Big changes are in store early next week and temps will warm - changing late day snows Sunday to a wintery mix overnight and all rain Monday morning. Soaking rains will fall Monday afternoon with highs in the upper 30's.
The warm-up isn't done there as we'll get close to 50 degrees for highs on Tuesday with more scattered showers. Wednesday will offer another transition - this one back to winter as cold air invades and I have snow and cold in the forecast late next week.
Enjoy the snow, sledding and your weekend!
