Will likely need to shovel, not sweep, Friday
Sunshine breaks out today but the chill stays with us. Under partly cloudy skies we'll see high temps climb into the upper teens this afternoon. Winds from the north at 5 to 15 MPH will deliver windchills in the single digits at times.
Overnight we cloud up and those clouds will produce our 2nd significant snow of the winter season. This won't be a deep snowfall but we will likely see 1 to 3 inches of accumulation with the brunt of the snow falling mid-day and scattered snow showers sticking around into the evening hours. If there is a bright spot it is that high temps Friday afternoon will finally get into the 20's!
The weekend looks quiet with some sunshine Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning and highs in the mid and upper 20's. Enjoy that sunshine as it will be going away for the first half of the work week.
We warm things up above freezing Monday as a wintery mix Sunday night turns to all rain by mid-day Monday. Highs will get into the upper 30's Monday afternoon and we're even warmer with some soaking rains on Tuesday and into the day Wednesday.
Once we get on the backside of this big storm system late in the day on Wednesday we will see temps plummet below freezing to finish out the work week.
Have fun in the chilly sunshine today and prepare for some snow to kick off the weekend tomorrow.
Have a great day!
