"Go to your local gun store, gun range or gun show with your Constitution, American flags, and your "Keep your hands off my guns" sign" reads the front page of the effort at gunappreciationday.com.

Saturday will mark a national effort for those who support gun rights to send a unified, national message to leaders in Washington D.C.

In the wake of President Obama's introduction of measures this week aimed at curbing gun violence, the "Appreciation" movement is hoping for big turnouts at local rallies.

The event was created and is being promoted by Political Media, Inc., a conservative/Tea Party that, according to their website is a "Republican New Media consulting firm that couples advanced technological solutions with cutting edge creative design."

"Americans love their guns and their Second Amendment right to bear arms", reads a flier for the event.  "On January 19th, 2013, gun owners and tea party activists across the country will demonstrate their passions...Chick-Fil-A style!".

Several events all across the country have been listed on the event's Facebook page.

Is a "Gun Appreciation Day" a good thing in your mind?  Would you participate?
