TOLEDO -- There is just one week left before the "Chip In" account, set up to pay for the medical bills of a severely injured pit bill, ends.

So far, just over half of the $700 required for a skin graft and foot surgery have been donated to care for Mr. Jenkins.

The abandoned dog was turned over to the Lucas County Dog Warden, a little more than a week ago, and become one of the many rescue cases taken on by the Lucas County Pit Crew.

Last Friday, Dr. Gary Thompson performed the needed surgeries on Mr. Jenkins and already the dog is seeing a hug improvement.

Jean Keating, of the Lucas County Pit Crew says that Mr. Jenkins should be ready for his foster home by the end of the week.
